FrugalLiving.tqn.com Pure Gold Award

FrugalFun

Shel Horowitz is a 'penny pinching hedonist', and this site proves it. How about slashing the cost of your next vacation or romantic dates for penny pinchers?

If that doesn't grab you, maybe you're more interested in tightwad weddings. There are over 170 free files at this site that will help you live a full and happy life without having to spend all your money to do so. Take a look at the back issues of the Frugal Fun Tipsheet, then you'll want to sign up for it.

This is one of the first sites I found 'way back when...I was new to the Internet. I was so pleasantly surprised to find the quality of information, mostly for free.

That's a great way to keep a little more of your own gold.

"The entire website of Horowitz's "Frugal Fun" is worth exploring."
Pat Holt, Publisher, 'Holt Uncensored' and former book columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle

"Dear Shel,
Out of 70 or so newsletters I subscribe to, yours is one of about a dozen that I actually read regularly.
I truly enjoy the instructional articles about Marketing and the 'tips & tricks' you've discovered and relate to us in your life experience articles.
Its your unique slant on marketing that makes the newsletter interesting. I receive enough newsletters that that are headlined 'Top ten marketing mistakes' or 'Top ten copywriting secrets' etc. These get to be so repetitive that they are filed into my marketing folder for future reference, never to be read again."
David Walker, U.K.

"Shel, I looked your site FrugalFun. Wow.... You have an AMAZING website. Congratulations on such a fine piece of work and contribution to your field. Holy cow! I'm looking forward to spending more time with it. Thanks."

"I have just spent nearly and hour on your web site. I have laughed and been encouraged beyond words! Two and a half years ago I suddenly became a single mom after 10 years of marriage. All those years we never had a decent place to live, let alone a vacation, although we both worked full time at decent paying jobs.(I am a nurse) Over the past two years I have spent much of my time trying to cope with life and pick up the pieces. But this year life is settling down and I began to plan a vacation, only to discover that the cost of the trip was way out of my budget, despite all the 'good deals' that were offered. As I read about Homestays I was encouraged. (We like to camp, but you never know who's around in a strange place.) I had discovered the benefit of our local state parks already, and have two camping trips planned but they are short trips with a purpose, not just 'gun in the sun'. The many frugal entertainment ideas have really blessed me and motivated me to get busy! I have some children that are about to embark on the best summer of their lives! Thank you for you research, so many of us had no idea where to start! I hope to be able to get your book soon. Keep writing, we'll keep reading! Thanks again, from Mid-Missouri! Sincerely, Kimberly Myers"
