Contemporary QuiltArt Association members were inspired by seas and streams - their many facets and inhabitants - for "Water's Edge," a juried exhibition to be held at the Seattle Aquarium October 8, 2005 through January 31, 2006. The Aquarium, a popular tourist site focusing on marine life and the natural wonders of the Puget Sound, is located at Pier 59, 1483 Alaskan Way on Seattle's waterfront.

The exhibition includes 22 art quilts by twenty artists, all members of CQA. Subject matters are both representational and abstract, including interpretations in fiber of coral, kelp, stream life, starfish and turtles. The Seattle Aquarium is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission is $12.00 for adults 13 and older; $8.00 for youth 6 to 12; $5.00 for children 3 to 5; and free for children 2 and under.

The Contemporary QuiltArt Association is an arts organization which sponsors and promotes the professional endeavors of artists working in the quilt medium. The association seeks to educate the public about this art form.
